What is Klinefelter syndrome?

Klinefelter syndrome is a chromosomal genetic disorder in which a male infant is born with an extra X chromosome XXY.

What causes Klinefelter syndrome?

The extra X chromosome is the direct cause of the symptoms of Klinefelter syndrome. This seems to occur randomly due to non dysjunction.
 

What are the symptoms of Klinefelter syndrome?

Symptoms of Klinefelter syndrome can include tall stature, delayed or incomplete puberty, smaller testicles, Low testosterone small penis, enlarged breast tissue, weak bones, low energy levels, a shy, reserved personality and learning disabilities.
 

What are Klinefelter syndrome care options?

Common treatments for Klinefelter syndrome include testosterone replacement therapy, education and speech therapy, physical therapy, fertility treatment, surgery to remove breast tissue and psychological counseling.
