Mr. Ojito has served as Chief Perfusionist at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital for over 30 years and has participated in over ten thousand pediatric perfusion cases. Named as a Fellow in Pediatric Perfusion, Mr. Ojito’s innovations include the world’s first rapidly deployable pediatric perfusion circuit and the first practical air transportable pediatric perfusion circuit. These crucial innovations have been copied worldwide. The holder of multiple patents, Mr. Ojito is widely respected as a leading innovator in pediatric perfusion especially mobile pediatric perfusion.

Thomas’ graduate studies were in cardiac tissue engineering before joining the team at Nicklaus Children’s. Thomas has been instrumental in operationalizing 3D printing and Mixed Reality at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital since 2018. With the help of generous donors, the APL has touched the lives of hundreds of children and their families.
