Joseph Nader Elegido Vicepresidente de la Junta Directiva de Nicklaus Children’s Hospital

Joseph Nader, Director General y Asesor de Patrimonio Principal de Calamos Wealth Management, LLC, ha sido elegido Vicepresidente de la Junta Directiva de Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. El Sr. Nader se ha desempeñado en funciones de liderazgo de directorios desde el 2012, y entre esas funciones se incluye presidir los comités de finanzas e inversión del hospital, donde era responsable sobre todos los activos de legados, seguros y planes de pensión. 


Michael Davis Named President of Pediatric Specialists of America

Michael Davis is the newly elected President of Pediatric Specialists of America. He has been with Nicklaus Children's Health System for nearly a decade having served in various leadership roles including Senior Vice President of Strategy, Business Development & Innovation as well as Vice President of Service Lines and Director of Professional Services.

Dr. Narendra Kini Elected to Serve on Transition Advisory Committee on Health and Wellness

Dr. Narendra Kini, CEO of Nicklaus Children’s Health System, has been elected by Governor-elect Ron DeSantis to serve as an advisor on the Transition Advisory Committee on Health and Wellness, a group of 50 health care experts from a variety of different medical fields across Florida’s health care system.

Matthew A. Love Joins Nicklaus Children's Health System as Chief Financial Officer

Nicklaus Children's Health System welcomes Matthew A. Love as Chief Financial Officer. He will oversee all health system financial responsibilities including treasury, financial and capital planning, managed care, accounting, payroll, property accounting and supply chain management.


Neural-Enabled Prosthetic Hand (NEPH) System Developed at FIU restores sensation to first human subject

The NEPH system, developed at Florida International University by Ranu Jung and her Adaptive Neural Systems Laboratory team, restores a sense of touch/grasp force and hand opening by stimulating sensory nerve fibers in the residual limb with fine wires implanted inside nerves. Implantation of the device was performed by Dr. Aaron Berger and his team from Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Berger is a hand and peripheral nerve surgeon who holds an appointment in FIU’s Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Nicklaus Children's Hospital has been awarded DNV GL Healthcare's Innovation of the Year award for the development and implementation of an automated crash cart management solution that has dramatically enhanced patient care and efficiency at the 309-bed freestanding children’s hospital and its network of outpatient centers.

Nicklaus Children’s Appoints Frank Garcia Vice President of Operations

Frank Garcia has been appointed Vice President of Operations for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, responsible for overseeing the Emergency Department, LifeFlight Critical Care Transport Program, as well as the radiology, laboratory and pharmacy services for the 289-bed pediatric specialty hospital. In this role Mr. Garcia oversees nearly 500 staff members within the health system.

2017 Annual Report
2017 was another remarkable year for Nicklaus Children's Health System. We forged new national collaborations to expand service offerings and innovation. We weathered an intense storm season, providing relief for families requiring medical care during and in the aftermath of major hurricanes. And we unified our organization under a new health system name, while continuing to expand our footprint in the region through our growing ambulatory network. Colorectal Center goes on mission trip to Peru
Juan Calisto, MD, and Raquel Pasarón, APRN, from the Nicklaus Children’s Colorectal Center care team recently participated in a mission trip to Peru to deliver collaborative care to 19 children affected by complex colorectal conditions, as well as provide education and onsite training of local pediatric surgeons. Nicklaus Children’s was one of only four organizations invited to participate in the program, which was sponsored by Red De Corazones and the Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño in Lima, Peru.
The Arterial Switch Operation: A Single Surgeon, Single Center Experience: 2001-2019
The Heart Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital remains dedicated to providing the very best and safest experience for patients undergoing congenital heart surgery. Today we report 18 years of outcomes for patients undergoing the arterial switch operation for complete transposition of the great arteries who were operated by Dr. Redmond Burke.
