Paciente del mes de septiembre: Juan Pablo

Conozca a nuestro paciente del mes de septiembre, Juan Pablo, de 9 años. Cuando él y su familia aún vivían en Venezuela, a Juan Pablo le diagnosticaron un neuroblastoma en estadio 4, un tipo de cáncer agresivo. Un cáncer que requeriría la mayoría de los tratamientos en el arsenal de un oncólogo: Juan Pablo ha recibido quimioterapia, un trasplante de médula ósea, radioterapia e inmunoterapia.

A lo largo de todo el proceso, se ha mantenido fuerte y ha vencido las probabilidades contra el cáncer que se habría cobrado su vida si no hubiera sido llevado al Nicklaus Children’s Hospital y puesto bajo el cuidado del Dr. Guillermo De Angulo. agosto 28, 2025 – El Departamento de Salud de Florida y el Sistema de Datos sobre el Cáncer de Florida (FCDS) han otorgado al Instituto de Cáncer y Enfermedades de la Sangre Helen & Jacob Shaham del Nicklaus Children&s  Hospital el Premio Conmemorativo Jean Byers 2024 para la Excelencia en el Registro del Cáncer.  El FCDS reconoce que sus instalaciones han cumplido o superado los estándares estatales y nacionales de calidad para la puntualidad y la integridad en los informes sobre el cáncer.
