Meet our September Patient of the Month, 9-year-old Juan Pablo. When he and his family were still living in Venezuela, Juan Pablo was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, an aggressive type of cancer. A cancer that would require most of the treatments in an oncologist’s arsenal: Juan Pablo has undergone chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy.
Throughout everything, he has remained strong and has beat the odds against the cancer that would have claimed his life had he not been brought to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and put under the care of Dr. Guillermo De Angulo. Watch Juan Pablo’s story at mchf.org/juanpablo and help us raise awareness throughout the month of September for Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.
