Miami Children’s Health System to be Renamed Nicklaus Children’s Health System

Miami Children’s Health System will undergo a name change to align the health system with the branding and identity of its flagship, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. The health system will become Nicklaus Children’s Health System in recognition of the continued support from the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation and its founders, golf icon Jack Nicklaus and his wife Barbara.

MCHS Recipient of Davies Award for Information Technology Excellence

Patients Medically Evacuated from Puerto Rico to Nicklaus Children's Hospital After Hurricane Maria

A week after Hurricane Maria devastated the Island of Puerto Rico as a category five storm, three patients awaiting complex heart surgeries were evacuated for medical reasons from University Children's Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Nicklaus Children’s for critical care.

A Second Chance for Patients in Need of a Bone Marrow Transplant

The Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s Cancer Center has successfully transplanted bone marrow from a mother who is only a half match donor to her young daughter utilizing a technique that requires specialized doses of chemotherapy prior to and after the transplant. Nicklaus Children’s is one of the few pediatric programs to offer the technique.
