Patient of the Month: Adam

marzo 31, 2025 – At three, Adam's family moved to Florida, where they started fresh with a new medical team for his stage four Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). At Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Adam received expert care from a multidisciplinary team of specialists from Nicklaus Children’s Division of Nephrology, Division of Endocrinology, and Division of Gastroenterology, all who helped him overcome various health issues and be where he is today.

Unique Collaboration Saves Boy with Pancreatic Tumor

marzo 05, 2025 – Harry's world was turned upside down when a severe abdominal pain landed him in the emergency room.  His parents were stunned to learn he had a large mass covering nearly 80 percent of his pancreas. Thankfully, Harry's family was connected to Nicklaus Children's Hospital's pediatric surgery team for emergency surgery.

Incredible Advances in Cancer Treatment Through Research

septiembre 16, 2025 – In recognition of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, this issue of the Research Rundown is dedicated to the incredible advances in cancer treatment through research. The Nicklaus Children's Research Institute (NCRI) with the Helen & Jacob Shaham Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute have more than 30 studies that are actively recruiting new subjects.

agosto 28, 2025 – El Departamento de Salud de Florida y el Sistema de Datos sobre el Cáncer de Florida (FCDS) han otorgado al Instituto de Cáncer y Enfermedades de la Sangre Helen & Jacob Shaham del Nicklaus Children&s  Hospital el Premio Conmemorativo Jean Byers 2024 para la Excelencia en el Registro del Cáncer.  El FCDS reconoce que sus instalaciones han cumplido o superado los estándares estatales y nacionales de calidad para la puntualidad y la integridad en los informes sobre el cáncer.
