Toba Niazi, MD - Pediatric Neurosurgeon

Los profesionales de salud identificados con el logotipo de Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists son afiliados de Nicklaus Children's Health System. Todos los demás en este sitio web tienen prácticas médicas independientes.

Dr. Toba Niazi is a pediatric neurosurgeon and serves as chief of the Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists (NCPS) Section of Neurosurgery, director of the Division of Neurosurgery, co-medical director of the Nicklaus Children's Hospital Brain Institute and medical director of Neuro-Oncology Surgical Services at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Her clinical interests include the surgical treatment of children with brain and spinal cord tumors, and children with cerebral palsy, spasticity and movement disorders. She also possesses specialized training in the use of rigid and flexible endoscopies for neurosurgical treatment.

Dr. Niazi has made a difference in the lives of countless children with complex health needs. See some of her recent successes online: They include Michael who has resumed a rich life after Dr. Niazi performed a dorsal rhizotomy to decrease his spasticity and Cameron, who is thriving after she performed a life-saving craniotomy.

Prior to joining the team in 2013, Dr. Niazi was on staff at Inova Fairfax Children’s Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, where she served as a pediatric neurosurgeon. Dr. Niazi received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore.

She completed her internship and residency at the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine, and a fellowship in neurosurgery at the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Medical Center. She is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. During her time in training, Dr. Niazi focused on translational research in a transgenic mouse model with medulloblastoma. This work led her to earn the prestigious Kenneth Shulman Award through the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS).

Dr. Niazi is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
