Dora the Explorer with Steve Rios, patient at Miami Children's Hospital.
March 1 2006,Miami, FL — Dora the Explorer made a very special appearance at Miami Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, March 1st. In town to promote her upcoming stage show, Dora's Pirate Adventure, Dora visited with the children in the hospital playroom, made arts and crafts projects with them, and then visited some of the children in their private hospital rooms.
The popular Dora is a seven-year-old Latina heroine, whose adventures take place in an imaginative, tropical world filled with jungles, beaches and rainforests. Dora explores her world just as preschoolers do everyday, and both the TV and stage shows are designed to actively engage their audiences using a variety of learning techniques.
"I am very excited to be here with the children," said Dora. "I am glad to be able to cheer them up for a little bit today!"
Dora’s Pirate Adventure performances are March 18, 2006 at 3 pm, and 6 pm and March 19 at 11am, 2pm and 5 pm.
