Sherrie Joy Baysa, MD
Pediatric Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist

Dr. Sherrie Joy Baysa is a pediatric cardiologist and electrophysiologist with The Heart Institute at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio. Dr. Baysa completed her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Southwestern/Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. She then pursued a fellowship in pediatric cardiology and advanced training in pediatric electrophysiology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Her clinical interests include arrhythmias, cardiac channelopathies, sudden cardiac death, congenital heart disease, catheter ablation, pacemakers and implantable defibrillators. 

Dr. Baysa is board certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. She is also certified as an electrophysiology specialist in pediatrics by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE). Dr. Baysa is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society and the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has presented at medical conferences.

Dr. Baysa is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She speaks English and the Filipino languages Tagalog and Ilocano.
