Pediatric Urgent Care Physician
Dr. Bengochea is employed by
Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, the physician-led multispecialty group practice of
Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He earned his medical degree from Centro de Estudios Tecnológica in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Dr. Bengochea then completed a residency in pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He is an associate professor of pediatrics at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Bengochea has also served on various boards and committees at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Bengochea is board certified in general pediatrics. He is a member of the American Medical Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Cardiology. Dr. Bengochea has worked on multiple non-profit projects throughout Latin American and Africa with a focus on HIV, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria. He has presented at international conferences on topics ranging from asthma to child abuse.
Dr. Bengochea sees patients at
Nicklaus Children’s Urgent Care Centers, which are located throughout South Florida. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
