Nicklaus Children’s Hospital pediatrician Dr. Fernando Llopiz will discuss specifics of newborn care including bathing, temperature taking, newborn behavior, sleeping patterns, diapering, soothing, feeding techniques and more. In addition, she will discuss when to take your infant to the doctor, colic, reflux and vaccinations.

About the Speakers
Dr. Fernando Llopiz Martin is board certified in general pediatrics. He is employed by Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA), the physician multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He earned his medical degree from the University of Havana School of Medicine in Cuba. Dr. Llopiz then completed a residency in pediatrics at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York. His clinical interests include growth and development, acute care and preventive pediatrics, including nutrition.
Dr. Llopiz is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Llopiz sees patients at the Gladys M. and Frederick Stewart Pediatric Care Center on the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital main campus. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
