The Cerebral Palsy (CP) and NeuroMotor Comprehensive Care Center is a collaboration between the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Orthopedic, Sports Health and Spine Institute and Brain Institute. The Center offers a comprehensive range of services, treatments and resources designed to support children with neurological motor conditions and disorders such a cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and other conditions that affect movement.
Our team of specialists benefit from a network of pediatric experts within Nicklaus Children’s who work together to personalize the needs of each individual patient and his/her care journey.
A Team Approach to Care
The team of specialists includes experts in orthopedics, neurology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, rehabilitation (PM&R), physical therapy, and developmental primary care. Together, they address a wide range of health issues, providing expert consultations, evaluations, advanced surgical interventions, and non-surgical therapies with the goal to improve mobility, independence and quality of life for children with neuromotor disorders.

Wheelchair/Seating and Mobility Clinic
The Wheelchair and DME (Durable Medical Equipment) Clinic held once a week, serves children with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions ranging from muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and cerebral palsy. Patients can be evaluated and fitted for wheelchairs, specialized walkers, chairs and bath equipment. There is a multi-specialty group of providers including a physical therapist, orthotist and wheel chair vendors who evaluate each patient’s abilities and needs.
