Diastrophic dysplasia is a genetic disorder that leads to short stature and other problems. Along with the signs of dwarfism, it can cause several other complications in the body.

Diastrophic dysplasia is a hereditary disorder that can be passed along from parents to their children.

What are the symptoms of diastrophic dysplasia? 

Along with shorter arms and legs, people with diastrophic dysplasia can have a curved spine, joint problems, skeletal abnormalities, and problems with the head, face and ears, among other symptoms.
 

What are diastrophic dysplasia care options?

No cure exists for diastrophic dysplasia. Surgery may be used to correct some of the abnormalities related to the disease. A number of therapists can also help people with the disorder live the best life possible.
