Martine graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associate of Science in Nursing and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St-Thomas University. During her bachelor's studies, Martine started her nursing career in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. After several years in the CICU, Martine chose to broaden her skills by cross-training in the pediatric psychiatric unit. Due to her passion for teaching, Martine also pursued further education and achieved her Master of Science in Nursing Education. Martine has a deep interest in understanding children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the role of nursing in caring for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities.
Martine now serves as a patient navigator for the Brain Institute's Neurodevelopmental Conditions Program, caring for children with autism and developmental delays. In this role Martine provides education, guidance, care coordination, and advocates for patients and their families following a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or other developmental needs.

Patricia Tavio is a patient navigator with the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program within the Nicklaus Children’s Brain Institute.
She completed a bachelor's degree in nursing at Florida International University and a master’s degree at Barry University. She also obtained a certification as a family nurse practitioner and certified neuroscience registered nurse. Mrs. Tavio began her nursing career in the neurology/neurosurgery unit, providing inpatient care to children with epilepsy, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, and chronic neurologic disorders. Her clinical interests include providing advocacy and guidance to patients and families to establish a continuum of care for the best possible outcomes.
