Dr. Marytery Fajardo is a pediatric neurologist and epileptologist with the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Neuroscience Institute and serves as program director of the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program and co-director of the Neuro-Cardiac and Development Program for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. In addition to seeing patients with general neurology and epilepsy concerns and attending the seizure unit, Dr. Fajardo also leads and participates in several specialty clinics including Neuromodulation, Neuro-Cardiac and Epilepsy Surgery.   

 

Dr. Fajardo earned her medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Holtz Children’s Hospital/Jackson Memorial Health System in Miami, Florida; followed by a residency in pediatric neurology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine/Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Fajardo then pursued a fellowship in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Her clinical interests include pediatric epilepsy, epilepsy surgery, neuromodulation, as well as neurologic and developmental outcomes in children with complex congenital heart disease.   

Dr. Fajardo is board certified in pediatric neurology, clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Clinical Neurophysiological Society, American Epilepsy Society and Child Neurology Society. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, she has presented at medical conferences and participated in international mission trips.  

Dr. Fajardo is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
