The Thyroid and Endocrine Surgery Center at Nicklaus Children’s offers comprehensive care management for children and adolescents with a full range of thyroid disorders and endocrine conditions requiring surgical management. While it occurs more frequently in adults, thyroid disease is among the most common endocrine disorders of childhood, occurring in approximately 37 of 1,000 children under the age of 20. Conditions affecting the adrenal and parathyroid glands, such as pheochromocytomas and parathyroid adenomas, are uncommon in the pediatric population but require surgical management due to the serious complications if left untreated.

Our dedicated pediatric endocrinology team provides thorough evaluations, with access to in-house thyroid ultrasounds and, when needed, safe and precise biopsies performed by experienced interventional radiologists and cytopathologists. For children who require surgery, care is led by a highly experienced, dedicated thyroid surgeon, supported by pediatric oncologists who specializes in the latest approved therapies for thyroid cancer. If radioactive iodine therapy is needed, we work closely with the experts at Baptist Hospital to ensure our child receives seamless, coordinated care.

With convenient locations across South Florida – from Pinecrest to Palm Beach Gardens – and a global office for international families, we’re here to provide expert, family-centered care because your child matters most.
