Sebastian Beats Brain Cancer

May 23, 2022 – Sebastian's mother became concerned when he began experiencing a dull headache that would not go away. After several days of the continued headaches, Sebastian's pediatrician recommended that the family take him to the emergency room for further testing. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and with a buildup of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain. His doctors immediately jumped into action to create a plan for his treatment.

Living With Hemophilia: Kevin's Story

November 30, 2021 – Kevin was only two years old when he was diagnosed with hemophilia, a rare bleeding disorder that prevents the blood from clotting properly. He learned to give himself his medication, which he had to inject every other day. Today, Kevin says he owes his success to his family, his care team, and of course, himself for being his own advocate.

April 12, 2021 – We are happy to share that Dr. Ziad Khatib, Director of the Neuro Oncology Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has been selected to receive an Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award in Pediatrics from the Florida International University - Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
