A Virtual Event
Trends and Innovations
This educational event is led by specialists and medical experts in the community including Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s Vascular Birthmarks Team.
The International Birthmark Institute (TIBI) at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, is a comprehensive multi-specialty center of excellence for the evaluation and management of all birthmarks with special expertise in vascular birthmarks or vascular anomalies in newborn babies and children, including hemangiomas and vascular malformations.
What are vascular birthmarks?
Vascular birthmarks include a wide array of lesions that are made up of an abnormal collection of blood vessels: capillaries, veins, arteries and lymphatics. They may be present at birth or soon after. They can range in color from bright red, dusky purple, greenish blue to the color of the skin. Early diagnosis and intervention is key in achieving the best outcomes for patients with vascular birthmarks.
