After receiving the results from her 20-week pregnancy checkup in Trinidad, Reánnah learned that her soon to be born daughter, Enya, showed signs of possible cleft lip and palate. Seeking the best care for their unborn daughter, Reánnah and her husband Andre started researching options in the United States and other countries abroad. Having had discussions with several craniofacial teams from multiple health systems, the family chose to travel to Miami for Enya’s delivery and follow-up care.
Following a healthy delivery at another local South Florida hospital, Enya was transported to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital to begin receiving treatment from the team at the Craniofacial Program, a dedicated group of medical professionals who would soon become family.
