Miami Children’s Hospital, Miami Children's Hospital Foundation and Kohl’s Department Stores A-Team recently teamed up to host the 2nd annual Family Safety Event. Children and families from the surrounding Schenley Park neighborhood were invited to take part in carnival-like games and drawings as well as information sessions on bicycle helmet and car seat fittings.
Kohl’s presented Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation with a $114,621 grant to promote bicycle and car seat safety in the community. Since 2009, Kohl’s has provided more than $175,000 to the Foundation, through the company’s Kohl’s Cares® program.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Kohl’s for the second year in our efforts to promote child safety throughout the community,” said Victor Fernandez, Director of Foundation Relations & Proposals, Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The program impacts approximately 2,000 children per year in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties in an effort to save lives. Additionally, Miami Children's Hospital Foundation receives 100 percent of proceeds from sales of children’s books and plush toys at Kohl’s stores throughout Miami-Dade. The program has raised more than $150 million for kids nationwide.
