Jaret Davis Elected Chair of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Board of Directors

Mr. Jaret Davis , Co-Managing Shareholder of the Miami office of the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig P.A., has been elected 2018 chair of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital board of directors. The 19-member panel oversees the operations of the 289-bed nonprofit pediatric subspecialty hospital and its network of outpatient centers extending from southern Miami-Dade to Palm Beach County.

Nicklaus Children's Horizon Nurse Residency Program Earns ANCC Accreditation

The Horizon Nurse Residency Program has achieved accreditation with distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC). Accreditation with Distinction is the highest recognition bestowed by the ANCC’s Commission on Accreditation and an honor that no other children’s hospital on the east coast of the U.S. currently holds.

Urgent Care and Sports Health Center Now Open in Pinecrest

The Nicklaus Children's Pinecrest Outpatient Center, located in Suniland, is now open for urgent care services. Pediatric urgent care for minor injuries and illnesses is offered daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The center will also provide iInjury prevention and performance training programs asn well as orthopedic and sports physical therapy services.

New "Game Changer" Treatment for Patients with Diabetes

Nicklaus Children’s Palm Beach Gardens Outpatient Center kicked off National Diabetes Month by introducing a new treatment option for children with Type 1 diabetes: the Medtronic MiniMed 670G system, sometimes called an “artificial pancreas.”

Caring for Rare

So rare, in fact, he shares the diagnosis with approximately 50 other people worldwide. For us, this means many things physically, and emotionally. It requires patience, the ability to acquire and hold on to new knowledge, the openness to learn how to care for your child in a way that does not come naturally, and making peace with unknowns. Holidays in the Hospital

’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring because we were stuck in the Special Care Unit at our local children’s hospital fighting a terrible trifecta of pneumonia, bronchiolitis, and gastrointestinal issues. What a vacation, right? Five days of respiratory support, holding feeds, and sleeping on a couch did not really meet our expectations for a Christmas holiday this past year, but it’s where we ended up.
