Florida KidCare offers healthcare coverage for children under age 19 who qualify.

Your child may qualify for comprehensive health coverage through Florida KidCare, even if one or both parents work. Getting health coverage for your children before they become sick is very important. Children need regular check-ups so they can grow strong and healthy. Healthy children do better at school and play.

What is Florida KidCare?

It’s comprehensive health insurance for children under age 19 who are uninsured. Qualifying for Florida KidCare is based on income and family size. Many non-citizen children may qualify. Florida KidCare includes the following:
  • MediKids: Covers children ages 1 through 4
  • Healthy Kids: Covers children ages 5 through 18
  • Children’s Medical Services Network: Covers children birth through age 18 with ongoing medical needs, special health care or emotional needs.
  • Medicaid for children: Covers children birth through 18

How do I apply for Florida KidCare?

How much do I pay each month for coverage?

Florida KidCare Medicaid is FREE! For other Florida KidCare programs, monthly premiums depend on family household size and income. Most families pay $15 or $20 per month to cover all children in the household. If families need to pay more, they will be informed. The Sunshine Health Stars Full Pay Program is $230 with dental/ $215 without dental. Some services may have additional small charges or a co-pay. A child who is a member of a federally-recognized American Indian or Alaskan Native tribe may qualify for nocost Florida KidCare coverage.
