The Nicklaus Children’s West Kendall Outpatient Center, located at 13400 SW 124th Street in Miami-Dade County, is celebrating its 15th anniversary of serving children in the community.
The West Kendall Outpatient Center, which opened in 2009, offers many services for children and adolescents under age 21. Its pediatric urgent care center is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and offers a wide range of pediatric specialty services, including pediatric urgent care for children under age 21 with minor injuries and illnesses. Board-certified pediatric physicians offer timely attention in a child-friendly environment.
The West Kendall Outpatient Center has a state-of-the-art pediatric rehabilitation gym that provides physical, occupational and speech therapies, hand and sports physical therapy. Appointments with pediatric specialists are offered in cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastic & reconstructive surgery, and psychology.
Families can also schedule diagnostic services by appointment at this location, including EEG, EKG, ultrasound, and MRI with and without sedation. This past summer, Nicklaus Children’s West Kendall Outpatient Center acquired a mobile version of the Philips 1.5T Ambition X, replacing an existing MRI machine to better serve children and their families. Nicklaus Children’s became the first pediatric health system in the nation to adopt a mobile version of the 1.5T Ambition X.
“The Nicklaus Children’s West Kendall Outpatient Center is a testament to our ongoing commitment of providing access to quality pediatric care close to home,” said Matthew A. Love, president and CEO of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. “We look forward to continuing to serve as the trusted pediatric resource in the community for generations to come,” he said.
