Marcia Diaz De Villegas, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Miami Children’s Health System, parent organization for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, has been named to South Florida Business Journal’s 2017 List of Power Leaders in Marketing. The nominations recognize top marketing executives who have led organizations through ever changing media convergence and executed marketing campaigns that are supported by all media platforms.

Mrs. Diaz De Villegas has overseen the health system's strategic marketing and public relations department which includes media relations, web presence, traditional and digital advertising, social media, events, service line marketing, multi-media efforts for a growing network of outpatient centers, and crisis communication for the last 20 years. In addition to leading three departments and managing a seven-figure budget, she also oversees coordination of brand messaging for the various entities that comprise the health system. Marcia’s strategic execution of marketing communications and public relations has helped to solidify the hospital’s international presence as a pediatric leader and supported the growth of the dynamic health system.

Mrs. Diaz De Villegas has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare marketing and has held leadership positions in previous healthcare organizations across South Florida. A South Miami resident, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing and International Business from Florida International University. Under her leadership, the hospital has received numerous awards including 22 Mark of Excellence Awards, in the areas of advertising, external communications, crisis management and broadcast communications.
