“My son Robert was born in May of 1978 in respiratory distress. He was immediately baptized, since we did not know long we would even have him. Nicklaus Children's Hospital sent a mobile unit to pick him up to transport him back to their brand new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I know that the loving care he received by those who transported him and those who treated him was what pulled him through! He is now an extremely successful computer engineer with two beautiful boys of his own. But it does not stop there - Bob is a second generation Nicklaus Children's Hospital patient! I had my appendix out in 1962 when Nicklaus Children's Hospital was Variety Children's Hospital. Bob's father, Brad, had a three digit patient number and Grandma Pat was an ER nurse there for over 30 years! Thank you Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital!”
