May is National Water Safety Month – a time to highlight the importance of safe practices in and around the water. Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death among children ages 1-14. Safety advocates across Miami-Dade County will come together to highlight the importance of safe practices in and around the water. The event is open to all and provides parents and children with resources on swim lessons, water and child safety.

- Water activities for children ages 1 and above
- Rescue and water safety demonstrations
- Free bicycle helmets (with fittings), while supplies last
- Poison Prevention
- and many more health and safety activities
