Focused on the developmental needs of children with congenital heart disease
Dedicated to promoting the best outcomes for survivor families of congenital heart disease and the challenges they face
As increasing numbers of children survive congenital heart disease (CHD) treatments, there is growing recognition of academic, behavioral and developmental challenges that may impact these children as they grow. The NeuroCardiac and Development Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is a specialized group of cardiologists, neurologists, geneticists, dietitians, therapists and nurses dedicated to improving the academic and social success of these children.
The NeuroCardiac and Development Program provides routine developmental evaluations for infants to young adults. The program partners with the child’s pediatrician and primary cardiologist to recommend interventions to promote the best outcomes for the child and their family.
