Requirements to Get Started

Commitment: College student volunteers agree to a minimum commitment agreement as stated below. Volunteer hours will be verified and signed off ONLY once the minimum commitment has been met.
Complete at least a SIX-MONTH and 80-HOUR MINIMUM COMMITMENT
Volunteer weekly in a three-hour shift
Two absences allowed in a three-month period of time
Application Procedure: Email completed application form to Include immunizations or titers for MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella (Chicken Pox), if available. An orientation invitation will be sent once the application is received. Orientations & Training: Orientation attendance is required and provided by the Volunteer Resources Department. The Volunteer Orientation takes approximately two to three hours. Additional training may be required based on placement assignment.
Interview: Applicants will be interviewed after attending a volunteer orientation. The purpose of the interview is to help the applicant and the Volunteer Recourses staff to become acquainted.  Acceptance into the program is decided at that time, as well as determine a volunteer assignment and schedule. Volunteer assignments and placements are not guaranteed and are based on availability and the outcome of the interview.
Criminal Background Check: A social security number is required to complete an online criminal background check at the interview.
Uniform: Accepted applicants are required to purchase a uniform immediately following the interview.
