Neurologist

Dr. Sandra Saade is a board-certified neurologist and sleep medicine specialist who sees patients of all ages with neurologic conditions and/or sleep disorders with the Department of Neurology, part of the Nicklaus Children’s Neuroscience Institute.

Dr. Saade earned her medical degree with summa cum laude honors from the Rosario University School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. She then completed a clinical research fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania focused on newborn brain imaging changes under low-oxygen conditions, as well as full-body imaging techniques for pediatric cancer. During this research period, Dr. Saade presented for two consecutive years at the European Society of Pediatric Radiology in Berlin, Germany, and Helsinki, Finland.

Dr. Saade trained as a neurologist with an adult neurology residency at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon graduation, Dr. Saade was awarded the “K. Krishnamoorthy MD Pediatric Neurology Rotator Award for her compassionate and dedicated care of children with neurological needs”. She then pursued advanced training with a fellowship in sleep medicine at Boston Medical Center, treating patients across all ages, which included infants, children, and adolescents.

Dr. Saade sees patients with sleep disorders such as insomnia, obstructive sleep apnea, excessive sleepiness, abnormal movements of sleep, among others. Dr. Saade’s clinical interest within neurology is providing lifelong care to young patients with stroke, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and other chronic neurological conditions.

Dr. Saade is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Neurology, Child Neurology Society, Colombian Association of Child Neurology and Colombian Association of Neurology. Dr. Saade has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and presented at international medical conferences.

Dr. Saade is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
