Mirta Rios, RD, CSP, LDN
Mirta Rios is a pediatric registered dietitian with the Food and Nutrition Department and provides nutritional consultations at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nutrition at University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. Mrs. Rios then completed an internship in dietetics at San Juan VA Hospital in Puerto Rico. Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease, nutrition and the microbiome and short bowel syndrome.
Mrs. Rios is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, South Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), where she participates on NASPGHAN’s Ethics and Diversity committees.
Mrs. Rios is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multi-specialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
