Dr. Luis Rodriguez Alfonzo is a pediatric anesthesiologist in the Department of Anesthesiology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He earned his medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas. Dr. Rodriguez completed a residency in anesthesiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. He then pursued a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the same institution. His clinical interests include utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) to optimize patient safety and physician quality metrics, operating room efficiency, and medical education.

Dr. Rodriguez is board certified in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, Pediatric Anesthesia Leadership Council and Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, where he currently serves as part of the Executive Board. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at medical conferences. 

Dr. Rodriguez is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
