Dr. Dana DeCarlo is a fetal and pediatric cardiologist with the Heart Institute at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. DeCarlo completed a residency in pediatrics at UCLA/Mattel Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, California. She then pursued a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at NYU Langone in New York City. During her fellowship, she studied the use of specialized imaging techniques to measure fetal heart function and presented her pioneering work at regional and national conferences. Her clinical interests include preventive and congenital heart disease, as well as serving as a passionate advocate for her patients.
 
Dr. DeCarlo is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of the American Medical Association. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has presented at medical conferences. 
 
Dr. DeCarlo is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She speaks English, Spanish and Italian.
