Volunteer Resources

The Teen Six-Month Volunteer Program will re-open for a brief period on Wednesday, September 19th at 8:00 A.M., and will remain open until capacity is reached. A teen six-month application will be posted at that time, and will be accepted first-come, first-serve, based on location preference and schedule availability.
 
When applying, please carefully read all teen volunteer application instructions as space is extremely limited at this time, and note the following regarding open teen volunteer opportunities throughout Nicklaus Children’s Health System: 

  • The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Main Campus has very few openings at this time, however outpatient centers (Urgent Care and Rehab Centers) have additional availability. These outpatient centers include:
  • There are currently no weekend or patient-care placement openings at Nicklaus Children’s Main Campus. Available weekday afternoon opportunities include:
  • Administrative project volunteer positions are also available through 5:00 P.M. at the Nicklaus Children’s Health System Corporate Headquarters at 5301 Blue Lagoon Drive, Miami.

Volunteers contribute in many ways providing comfort, care and unexpected joy to the children and families in the hospital, as well as supporting the professional staff. We are excited and want to thank you for your interest in wanting to volunteer at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. The Volunteer Resources Department orients, interviews, trains and places all qualified who want to volunteer. We enthusiastically welcome individuals of all backgrounds and abilities.

Founded in 1950 by Variety Clubs International, Nicklaus Children's Hospital is South Florida’s only licensed specialty hospital exclusively for children, with more than 740 attending physicians and over 220 pediatric subspecialists. The 289-bed hospital is renowned for excellence in all aspects of pediatric medicine with several specialty programs ranked among the best in the nation in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014-15, and 2016-17 by U.S. News & World Report.

Off Campus Locations

Nicklaus Children's Hospital has volunteer opportunities at the main hospital campus, as well as our off-campus locations. All volunteers are processed at the main campus location.
