Learning objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
- Understand the pathophysiology, evaluation, etiology and management of macrocephaly, and recognize concerning features associated with pediatric hydrocephalus and shunt malfunction
- Evaluate head shape, distinguish between craniosynostosis and positional plagiocephaly, and understand when to refer
- Recognize common neurosurgical cranial diagnoses including scalp lesions, congenital defects, skull fractures, and be able to select the appropriate tools for evaluation
