Andrea Alonzo, MD
Dr. Andrea Alonzo is an adolescent-focused pediatrician who provides consultations with the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She earned her medical degree from University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. She also earned a master’s degree in nutrition from the University of Miami. Dr. Alonzo then completed a residency in pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Her clinical interests include reproductive health, gynecology, eating disorders, nutrition, preventive medicine and education.
During her residency at Nicklaus Children’ Hospital, Dr. Alonzo was active on several committees including the Wellness Committee, Recruitment Committee, Outdoor Committee and Advocacy Committee. She also participated in a quality improvement research project related to antibiotic stewardship for urinary tract infections.
Dr. Alonzo is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
