Dr. Daniel Duarte Caceres is a pediatric and congenital Interventional cardiologist with The Heart Institute at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Universidad de la Sabana in Colombia. Dr. Duarte then completed a residency in Pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He remained at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital to pursue a fellowship in pediatric cardiology, followed by advanced fellowships in pediatric Interventional cardiology and cardiac intensive care. His clinical interests include transcatheter valve replacements, patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) occlusion in extremely premature infants, septal defect closures, pulmonary artery and vein rehabilitation, among others.

 
Dr. Duarte is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Medical Association. Dr. Duarte has presented at multiple pediatric cardiology and interventional cardiology conferences. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions and Heart.
 
Dr. Duarte is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
