William DeCampli, MD

 

Prior to joining The Heart Institute, Dr. DeCampli was instrumental in developing minimally invasive cardiac surgery procedures at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has extensive expertise in complex neonatal and infant cardiac surgery. Dr. DeCampli received his medical degree from the University of Miami and completed his internship and residency programs in general and cardiothoracic surgery at Stanford University Medical School. Dr. DeCampli holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a doctorate in physics from Harvard University. He is board certified in general and thoracic surgery. Dr. DeCampli is the author of over 70 papers, book chapters and abstracts, and is a leader in the development of video-assisted and minimally invasive pediatric cardiac surgical techniques. He performs the full range of reconstructive congenital cardiac operations, as well as pediatric cardiac transplantation. His practice is based in Orlando.
