Mario D. Zambrano, MD, FAAP
Pediatrician
Dr. Mario D. Zambrano is a pediatrician who sees patients in the pediatric emergency departments at Baptist Hospital and Homestead Hospital. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad de Cuenca in Ecuador. Dr. Zambrano then completed a residency in pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. His clinical interests include preventive pediatric care and adolescent medicine.
Dr. Zambrano is board certified in general pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Zambrano has practiced medicine since 1985 and focused on pediatric primary care since 1992. He completed his training under the tutelage of Dr. Ramon Rodriguez-Torres and Dr. Charles Wharton. Dr. Zambrano rejoined Nicklaus Children’s Health System in 2022 and is pleased to return to his alma mater.
Dr. Zambrano is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
