Dr. Maria Milla is a pediatrician and serves as the section chief of Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Care Centers. She earned her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean on St. Maarten. Dr. Milla then completed a residency in pediatrics at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. She also holds a Master of Public Health from Florida International University’s Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work in Miami. Her clinical interests include general pediatric primary care, evidence-based medical education and early childhood literacy. Dr. Milla is board certified in general pediatrics. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Medical Association. Dr. Milla is frequently sought out by the media to provide commentary as a subject-matter expert. Dr. Milla is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, as well as conversant in Portuguese.
