Endocrinologist  

Dr. Juan Mejia-Otero is a pediatric endocrinologist within the Division of Endocrinology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Libre, in Cali, Colombia. Dr. Mejia-Otero completed a residency in pediatrics at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. He then pursued a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas. His clinical interests include puberty disorders, adrenal disorders and bone disease. 

Dr. Mejia-Otero is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society and Endocrine Society. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at medical conferences.   

Dr. Mejia-Otero is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.   

The Division of Endocrinology at Nicklaus Children's Hospital offers a complete array of diagnostic, treatment and consulting services for infants, children and adolescents with endocrine disorders. The care team is dedicated to fulfilling the medical and support needs of children and their families through a multidisciplinary approach that has helped children from around the world. Consultations with the division’s board-certified endocrinologists are offered at the hospital’s main campus near Coral Gables, as well as at select Nicklaus Children’s outpatient centers located from southern Miami-Dade to Martin counties.
