Dr. Palau Collazo is employed by Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She is a pediatric endocrinologist within the Division of Endocrinology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Palau Collazo earned her medical degree with honors from the University of Puerto Rico/Medical Sciences Campus in San Juan. She then completed a residency in pediatrics at Cornell University Weill Cornell Medicine/New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, followed by a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Yale School of Medicine/Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.
Her clinical interests include treatment of Type 1 diabetes, obesity, growth, thyroid and issues relating to puberty. She is one of a handful of physicians nationwide trained to start patients on the Medtronic 670G. Approved by the FDA in 2016, this state-of-the-art insulin pump is referred to as the first artificial pancreas for its ability to deliver insulin according to a patient's blood-sugar level.
Dr. Palau Collazo is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology. She has received several accolades for her academic excellence and served as both a mentor and educator. Dr. Palau Collazo has presented her research internationally, has multiple publications and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrinology Society and the Endocrine Society.
Dr. Palau Collazo sees patients at the Nicklaus Children’s Palm Beach Gardens Outpatient Center. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
