Director, Cardiac Non-Invasive Imaging

Dr. Muñiz is the director of Cardiac Non-Invasive Imaging within The Heart Institute at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Muñiz completed a residency in pediatrics at the Boston Combined Program for Pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital and Boston Medical Center in Massachusetts. He then pursued fellowships in pediatric cardiology and non-invasive cardiac imaging at Boston Children’s Hospital. His clinical interests include multimodality imaging of complex congenital heart disease and 3D modeling of complex anatomical lesions.

Dr. Muñiz is board certified in pediatric cardiology. He has published peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters, as well as lectured both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Muñiz is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, the multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He sees patients at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
