Richard Arboleda, MD

 
Dr. Arboleda obtained his Master's in Public Health from Florida International University followed by medical school at Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. He completed his pediatric residency training at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, formerly Nicklaus Children's Hospital and pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University. During his fellowship, his research interests included Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection in children living in an endemic area in Colombia. Additionally, he developed and validated a non-invasive manner to obtain H. pylori from asymptomatic children living in endemic areas for epidemiologic studies. He presented his work at the annual North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) meeting and his work was published in the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (JPGN) titled "Use of a Non-invasive Test (Entero-test) in the Detection of Helicobacter pylori in Children in an Endemic Area in Colombia.  His special interests include H. pylori, inflammatory bowel disease, and celiac disease.  Dr. Arboleda is board certified in pediatrics and in pediatric gastroenterology.
