Dr. Ramos was raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1989. She trained in general surgery in Puerto Rico and Boston, completed a research fellowship at the University of New Mexico, and then completed the pediatric surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Dr. Ramos was recently the Chief of Pediatric Surgery at the San Jorge Children's Hospital in San Juan, PR and completed her Master's of Science Degree at the University of Puerto Rico. Her research has been in the influence of ethnic factors in the incidence of disease and access to health care . Dr. Ramos is an avid supporter of the theater and the arts.
