Dr. Zenia P. Aguilera graduated from the Higher Institute of Medical Science in Cuba with a “Golden Seal Award” for academic achievement, later completing a residency in ophthalmology with honors at the same Institute. She served as an instructor professor in pediatric ophthalmology at Juan M. Marquez General Pediatric Hospital in Havana, before moving to the U.S. where she completed a pediatric residency and a residency in ophthalmology at Bronx Lebanon Hospital/Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Aguilera concluded a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh/ University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is board certified in ophthalmology and general pediatrics. She has been published and presented at national and international conferences. Her primary research focus is prevention of ocular manifestation of systemic conditions in children. Dr. Aguilera is fluent in English and in Spanish.
