Rosa Monte Fernandez, MD, FAAP
Pediatrician
Dr. Monte has been practicing pediatrics in Broward County for more than 30 years. She is involved in many mentoring programs in her community.
Dr. Monte has a passion for academic medicine and teaches nurse practitioner (APRN) students, students, physician assistant (PA) students, medical students and pediatric residents from the University of Miami (UM), Florida International University (FIU), Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Broward College (BC), Miami-Dade College (MDC), Barry University, Nova Southeastern University and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She also gives lectures at local high schools, and mentors young women in organizations such as “Woman of Tomorrow,” “Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO),” and “High School Science Scholars.”
Dr. Monte’s clinical interests are in early childhood development and adolescent medicine. She earned her medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico and received her training in pediatrics and adolescent medicine from Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr. Monte is board certified in general pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Monte is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
