A native of New York City, Dr. Ramirez graduated from Cornell University Medical College in 1978. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and Fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at the Children's Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. In July 2000, after 17 years in private practice, Dr. Ramirez returned to Fellowship training in the field of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa.
She has lectured frequently and is an author on issues related to allergy and pulmonary diseases. Dr. Ramirez has also participated in numerous clinical research trials. Of special interest to her are novel therapeutic options for allergic disease. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Pumonology, and is now Board Eligible in Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Ramirez is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Dr. Ramirez is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Nova Southeastern University College of Medicine.
She is currently in practice with Asthma and Allergy Associates of Florida.
