Dr. Anselmo Cepero-Akselrad completed his training in general pediatrics at what is now Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York, New York. In 1988, he became a member of the Pediatric Nephrology Division at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where he developed the chronic hemodialysis unit. Other clinical interests include hypertension, collagen vascular diseases, and urinary incontinence. In 1996, he created the Center for Enuresis & Urinary Disorders/Urodynamics at Nicklaus Children’s, serving as director until 2016. He started the practice of in-office renal/bladder ultrasound. Dr. Cepero-Akselrad has served for two terms as president of the hospital Medical Executive Committee (MEC) and is a member of the Bylaws Committee.
Dr. Cepero-Akselrad is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology and has published in numerous scientific journals. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
