Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Fort Lauderdale brings advanced pediatric care closer to home, reducing the need for families to travel outside the county. The campus offers a Level III NICU, PICU, pediatric surgery, hematology/oncology services, inpatient therapy, and a dedicated Nicklaus Children’s pediatric emergency department designed specifically for children. Through our affiliation with Broward Health, children also have access to Level I trauma services on campus, ensuring rapid coordination of care for the most critically injured patients.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) features 70 dedicated beds and provides advanced, around-the-clock care for premature and critically ill newborns. Staffed by highly trained neonatology specialists, the unit is equipped to manage complex medical conditions while supporting families throughout their baby’s care journey.
Pediatric Emergency Department
The Pediatric Emergency Department features 12 beds and is staffed by pediatric emergency specialists who provide rapid evaluation, advanced diagnostics, and lifesaving treatment for seriously ill and injured children around the clock. Through Nicklaus Children's affiliation with Broward Health, families benefit from immediate access to on-campus Level I trauma services for children with the most severe injuries.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) includes 12 beds and delivers specialized, high-acuity care for children with serious or life-threatening conditions. Led by pediatric critical care specialists, the unit is equipped with advanced monitoring and treatment capabilities to support complex medical needs and recovery.
Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit
The Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit offers 22 beds and provides inpatient care for children recovering from surgery or being treated for a wide range of medical conditions. The unit is designed to support healing in a child-focused environment, with care teams experienced in pediatric treatment and family-centered care.
Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit
The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit includes 10 dedicated beds and provides specialized inpatient care for children undergoing treatment for blood disorders and cancer. Multidisciplinary pediatric specialists deliver coordinated, compassionate care tailored to each child’s medical and emotional needs.
Pediatric Hematology Oncology Infusion
Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Infusion services provide outpatient treatment in a supportive, child-centered environment for children receiving chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and other infusion therapies. Care is delivered by specialized pediatric teams focused on safety, comfort, and continuity throughout each child’s treatment plan.
Pediatric Surgery
Pediatric Surgery services are supported by 2 dedicated operating rooms designed specifically for children. Procedures are performed by experienced pediatric surgical teams using specialized equipment to support safe, precise care and optimal outcomes.
Inpatient Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy Services
Inpatient occupational, physical, and speech therapy services support children during recovery by helping improve mobility, communication, and daily functional skills. Pediatric therapists work closely with the care team to deliver personalized treatment plans that promote healing and long-term development.
